I have not dumped in like months. I just had maybe a teaspoonful of Rice which I still cannot stomach but just tasted a little and guess what not only did the rice come out all of my dinner came out. Suffice to say I am going to rest up my little pouch. Nothing but liquids for me for at least 24 hours. Why is it that I can eat some foods some days and am fine other days those same foods make me hurl? Does this happen to other people? Don't get me wrong I know better than to eat rice but there have been some days where I am able to eat a little rice I guess today was just not my day. When I puke I cannot stop the spasms and poor hubby had to force me to sip water and I got a "you know better look from him"

People comment on my over 100 pound weight loss and attribute it to my WILLpower, but it is my WANTpower: I WANT to be thin and healthy more than anything else!

There is nothing worse than the "you know better look"  I got one on Sunday night after I drank all day and then stupidly chose to eat a half of a bagel.....Yup - Larry was great - but I certainly got THAT look! :)  Oh  And feel better! :)

I also did something so dumb had a piece of b-day cake a corner piece no less you know the one with all the icing and flowers and shame on my ass dumped and I so knew better I had this awful craving and knew as sure as God made little green apples I was gonna pay for it and yep I dumped and the next day when I was being *****y George said to me "dear have another piece of cake" but I knew better.  Sort of like jumping into a pool knowing you were gonna get wet.  Duh!  Feel better sweetie.  We live and learn. One of us should write a book called "we knew better but did it anyway and got it out of our system" Litterally,

Shilpa, Still to this day, I have foods that are OK one time, torture the next. I never understood why. But I understand. I have totally cut out a few things that always tease me with wanting to stay down or not. I hate the game of waiting or wondering if it will happen.

And last weekend, I ate TWO oatmeal rasin cookies. Not the standard store bought ones, but the homemade ones that melt in your mouth and are so chewy and yummy. My aunt KNOWS I can't have them, but they were always my favorite since I can remember, so she sends "just a few" over to me each time she makes them. GRRRRR, I din't have half of ONE, or even ONE. I ate 2 and thought I was going to die.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jodi,

Liz has an awesome recipe for sugar free oatmeal raisin cookies.  Maybe you could still indulge in your favorite without paying so dearly for it.   I use maltitol instead of the other sugar substitutes.  Here's her recipe:

SF oatmeal cookies

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter softened (or margarine)
1 cup diabetisweet (or 1/2 diabetisweet / 1/2 splenda or just splenda)
1 cup brown diabetisweet (or another brown sugar substitute)
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups old fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups raisins (or chocolate chips!)

Combine dry ingredients, set aside.

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry mixture, then oatmeal and finally raisins. Drop by tablespoons full onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes. Remove from oven, let cookies cool on baking sheet for about 2 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.

Enjoy!

PS - This makes a TON of cookies - I like to form 1/2 of it into a log and wrap in wax paper then put in a ziplock  bag in the fridge - when they have set up slice into 1/2" slices - freeze and you can pop them right into the freezer whenever you want a cookie!

I will have to give this to my aunt. I am NOT a baker. Hate it. Now cooking a meal......one of my faves, but I hate to bake! LOL.

But she has asked for some sugar free recipes in the past and I will forward this to her. My uncle, her husband is diabetic, so when she makes stuff, she gives it all away to keep out of the house!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Sorry to hear about you dumping - blech - but sometimes I think our bodies do that to us to remind us of what we had done and where we've come from. Rice is a very tricky food for me as well - sometimes I can eat a little - other times I get the foamies big time from it - must swell in my pouch or something.

And yeah, I get the 'you know better' look (and speech) from my hubby as well...hope you're feeling better.

Shilpa,

So sorry to hear that you dumped! I take each of those experiences as "learning exercises" for myself. I find it helps me remember what I can and can't do. About a month ago, I dumped on too much SF candy . I knew after I ate it that I would regret it and I DID! Lesson learned. Haven't touched it since.

Here is a ((hug)) for you! Hate when hubby's give that look!!!!
